🌍🏛️ Closing Ceremony — Capacity Building Programme on Earthen Architecture & Climate Change On 11 May, we proudly concluded the ICOMOS Capacity-Building Programme on “Climate-Resilient Earthen Architecture in Africa”, hosted at the Royal Court of Tiébélé (Burkina Faso), a UNESCO World Heritage site. Over the past eight days, 25 emerging and mid-career heritage professionals from 16 African countries came together to exchange knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and deepen their understanding of the climate challenges threatening Africa’s earthen architectural heritage. This programme brought practitioners together to exchange knowledge and experiences, reinforcing a shared commitment to climate resilience and heritage conservation across the continent. To conclude this training, the participants had the chance to meet Mr Pingdwendé Gilbert Ouedraogo, Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism of Burkina Faso. Implemented by ICOMOS in collaboration with ICOMOS Burkina Faso, the initiative also benefited from the expertise of international and national experts, including members of ICOMOS ISCEAH and the Climate Action Working Group. ✨ We warmly thank the International alliance for the protection of heritage (@ALIPHFoundation) for its generous support in making this important initiative possible. 📍 Royal Court of Tiébélé, Burkina Faso Slide 1 & 4 📷 Zuhura Mtenguzi #CulturalHeritage #ClimateAction #EarthenArchitecture #WorldHeritage
