In an emotional moment, Gretzky called Kirton a "hero," reflecting on their longtime friendship and Kirton’s relentless advocacy for ALS awareness and funding. Sittler echoed the sentiment, likening Kirton’s resilience to Terry Fox, acknowledging his drive to make a difference. 🏒 With support from hockey-world figures like Brendan Shanahan, Dave Poulin, and more, Kirton’s ALS Super Fund has raised over $1M in just nine months—proof that change is possible with community and collaboration. At ALS Canada and The ALS Super Fund, we remember the courage and resilience of those impacted by ALS, who, like the heroes we honour today, have faced their own profound challenges with dignity and determination. In their memory, we carry forward the commitment to fund ALS research, support affected families, and continue the journey toward a cure.
