Day 1 at ALT Network Summit 2026 brought together leaders across law, technology, policy, and innovation to engage on the future of governance, AI, and access in Africa. Here are some highlights from the conversations shaping tomorrow. #ALT2026 #ALTNetworkSummit2026

Carmen Silvia Paulo de Aragão, Advocate at Spieß Schumacher Schmieg & Partner Rechtsanwälte mbB (Germany), delivered the closing remarks of Day One, reflecting on the day’s key discussions and encouraging participants to return for an equally insightful Day Two. #ALT2026

Now in session, Panel 3 explores Powering the Future: Green Tech & Energy Infrastructure Governance. The conversation examines the legal and policy frameworks driving renewable energy, green data centers and sustainable digital infrastructure to power Africa’s #DigitalFuture.

Panel 2 is now underway, exploring The Creative Code: IP Governance in the Age of Generative AI. The discussion focuses on how AI impacts African languages, cultural expression and intellectual property, while examining inclusive AI strategies for Africa. #TechForGood

In our Industry & Policy Insights session, Andre van Jaarsveldt explored the shift from reactive #LegalDocumentation to proactive legal orchestration, while Mark Pillai unpacked how AI, e-invoicing & #compliance are reshaping legal risk advisory in the age of algorithmic finance.

Panel 1 is now underway, exploring The Future of Practice: AI, Access to Justice, and the AI-Assisted Lawyer. The discussion is focuses on the shift from lawyer-centric to user-centric justice and how AI can improve efficiency and expand access to justice at scale. #TechForGood

In her keynote, @StellaMurungii, CDO at @Rwanda_Justice, noted that digital sovereignty is not about isolation but dignity, resilience & meaningful control over Africa’s digital future. She also called for partnerships to help shift Africa from dependence to co-creation. #ALT2026
