Hawi was gunned down outside a Sydney gym in 2018, and long-time friend Yusuf Nazlioglu was acquitted of his murder, only to be shot dead himself in 2022. Ross is still alive, and in 2021 survived being accidentally run over by the daughter of celebrity brain surgeon Charlie Teo.
