Cool and wet sure greens up the countryside. Too bad it is going white today.

CMA has ideas on many things that can be done, and should be done in the near term, to improve health care for our aging population.

Palliative/End of Life Care critical. Better care for dementia patients precedes the later stages of care.

Improved, but different, seniors care strategy may be key to a sustainable health care system for Alberta, and Canada.

Good home care saves money in other areas, and the revised health system both works better and does it at lower cost.

Need to get much better at senior care delivery outside hospitals. LTC beds cheaper than hospital care & Home Care much cheaper still

Global health system rankings compared in Commonwealth Fund report. Canada did not do well. Clearly we need to do many things differently.

Our part of the province is getting pretty dry & we could sure use some of the rain other areas have been getting. Hail we can do without.

Will have some medical students shadow me on call this fall. Hope they are as invigorating this year as they have been in the past.

Signs of waning summer: the grain crops are starting to ripen. Haying has shifted over to harvesting green feed.

The CMA General Council starts in 5 days. AMA will motion the Fed Govt to ensure adequate resources to deal with emerging disease like Ebola

Played the North South Golf Tournament last week to support scholarships for medical students. Raised almost $50K & everyone had a good time
