Excited to present our study last week at #SNIS2025 on EVT vs. medical management in basilar artery occlusions (BAOs) w/ NIHSS <10: a group that makes up 20–30% of BAOs but is often excluded from clinical trials. 🧠 Risk-benefit profile of EVT for BAOs shows equivalent odds of NHD among the entire cohort ⬇️ NIHSS stratification however shows a decreased rate of NHD once NIHSS ≥4. ⚠️ However, there is still a need for a widely used posterior circulation stroke grading scale Very grateful to the team @AMCNeurosurgery for all of their support for this work @AlexandraPaulMD @BrainSurgeon_MD #AdityaGoyal #NathanRamachandran #AmandaCustozzo #JohnDalfino
