@GHPsauce @paulburton73 Maybe with the introduction of HBO Max imminently, some of those HBO costs are freed up, plus it needs to keep making British shows and many of theirs have recently ended or haven’t had this hype around them so they can take more of a risk which other broadcasters can’t

@paulburton73 C4 cannot afford to do a weekly live entertainment show right now. Studio hire, regular comedians, crew of writers, costume, hair, makeup, set design, marketing, booking big celebs to host all price it out of mind for pretty much any terrestrial channel at the moment

@CynitaSquidward Yeah the legacy of Sky is the expensive subscription compared to the newer streamers which puts a block in most people’s minds about signing up to it

@CynitaSquidward Sky have always done countless British entertainment and shows over the years. This is just the latest string to that bow. It isn’t solely HBO stuff on there - that’s kept for Sky Atlantic but HBOMax launching here may change that too

@AMG_Review Yeah but putting out a live weekly show for the nation on a network which usually only broadcasts HBO type stuff… it just feels like selling a sandwich from inside an Ivy Restaurant

@CynitaSquidward People have to do the same for anything on Netflix, Prime, Apple, Disney etc without calling for their content to be on terrestrial 🤷🏼‍♂️

@AMG_Review Because the first thing I thought when I heard it was on SkyOne was "oh literally noone I know watches that". I've had to steal my friend's NowTV log-in just to catch up.

@3clicksfromdoom Plus the ensemble and writers room it has, plus costumes and makeup, set designs for each sketch. It’s no small order

@AMG_Review Channel 4 wouldn't be able to match the budget for SNLuk that Sky are paying. 9 weeks to hire meeting rooms, production offices and a permanent set in TC1 at Television Centre for 9 weeks isn't cheap.
