Albertus Magnus 72 Aquinas 50 Final Aquinas fought well to remain competitive in the 1st half, but in a battle of what’s become HVCC regulars in recent years, Albertus Magnus’ steadiness & sustainability came through after the break. A big 3rd quarter blew it open, another run to start the 4th added to it, and they led by as much as 37 in the waning moments en route to a third straight @NYSPHSAA crown & the second of Class AAA supremacy 🏆 @Saranezaj2028 got loose & went for 32 to lead all scorers, and @juliascott2026 (@ClemsonWBB) capped a HS chapter that could only be considered ‘generational’ with 23 more for @AMHSFalcons (@patbuckley10). Albertus Magnus, the two-time defending state champs, completed a Section One three-peat Sunday morning at the County Center, beating Ketcham 56-31 in the Class AAA Girls Basketball Championship.
