We envision an Africa with enduring, improving health systems. Through the Mission Hospital Teaching Network, AMH supports doctors pursuing specialty training in surgery, anesthesia, pediatrics, and critical care—equipping leaders to serve their communities.

St Daniel Comboni Hospital serves nearly 500,000 people in South Sudan. For years, medical waste was managed through open burning or off-site disposal. Through our partnership, a dual-chamber incinerator is now operational, strengthening safety and infection prevention long-term.

Our story begins with a recognition: Mission hospitals are often the backbone of care in the communities they serve, yet many operate with limited resources. African Mission Healthcare was created to strengthen their systems and expand their capacity to deliver excellent care.

In Ethiopia, out of a population of more than 100 million people, there are only about 20 pediatric surgeons. Dr. Muse Freneh is working to change that. He graduated as Africa’s top Pediatric Surgery fellow through COSECSA and plans to return home to serve underserved children.

As a child in Malawi, Anna saw long hospital lines and too few nurses. She chose to be part of the solution. Now she’s pursuing Critical Care training at Kijabe College. When she returns to Nkhoma Mission Hospital, she’ll fill a critical ICU gap. “Your support makes it possible.”

In South Sudan and the Nuba Mountains of Sudan, healthcare didn’t pause in 2025. Neither did our partners. In South Sudan alone, AMH-supported hospitals treated nearly 37,000 patients, often as the only source of care amid conflict, displacement, and outbreaks. #CareUnderPressure
