Last chance to sign up! It’s a sobering thought that a single tree can harbour hundreds of species - yet few people will realise that some of those species live, not just on the bark or in fissures, but within the very leaves themselves. This fascinating FREE webinar will explore the fascinating world of fungal communities that live inside leaves - also known as endophytes. the-microbiologist.com/news/a-world-w… @MicroSocEquity @naupakaz

Master’s student Taznita Kista at the Wits Advanced Drug Delivery Platform is exploring whether a nano-enabled nasal spray could change how cerebral malaria is treated. Her work focuses on a nose-to-brain drug delivery system using niosomes - microscopic vesicles composed of non-ionic surfactants that can encapsulate drugs and enhance their delivery in the body. the-microbiologist.com/news/nasal-spr… #WorldMalariaDay

It's coffee o'clock! First of its kind research shows the potential role of coffee as an intervention to promote positive gut health and probes its effects on the gut-brain axis. Coffee was found to positively affect perceived mood and stress levels. Regular coffee consumption - whether caffeinated or not - also corresponds with evidence of biomarkers usually associated with better psychological wellbeing. the-microbiologist.com/news/new-resea… @Pharmabiotic @jfcryan
