A comprehensive cohort study with @yuxia_wei as first author found that having a first-degree relative with #diabetes significantly increases the risk of developing #T1D as an adult & the risk is higher if the relative developed diabetes early.

@MarionBrunck @SofiaEJCarlsson Thank you @MarionBrunck! Yes, it is possible, although the associations were consistent in studies that adjusted for other dietary components. We suspect that supplements did not show any benefit because participants already had adequate intakes from diet.
