🇨🇦 Advancing antimicrobial stewardship in Canada Work continues on the Canadian Antibiotic Treatment Guidance (CATG) a national AMMI Canada initiative developing evidence-based antibiotic prescribing recommendations to support clinicians across the country. Funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada, the guidance is being developed by a national multidisciplinary expert panel, including McMaster researchers Deborah Yamamura, Mark Loeb and Dena Zeraatkar. The guidance is available to clinicians through Firstline, helping bring evidence-based recommendations to the point of care. AMMI Canada is committed to recognizing excellence that reflects the breadth, diversity, and impact of our membership. Research shows that outstanding contributions — particularly by women and underrepresented groups — are often less likely to be formally recognized. A strong and diverse nomination pool helps address this imbalance. We encourage all members to: • Champion inclusivity • Spot hidden talent • Recognize non-traditional excellence • Be mindful of unconscious bias Your nomination plays a vital role in shaping a fair and inclusive awards process. 🔗 Nominate an outstanding colleague today ⏰ Deadline: February 13, 2026 #ammicanada #medicalmicrobiology #infectiousdiseases

For 50 years, vaccines have been one of the most powerful tools to keep people healthy. Vaccination has saved 154 million lives since 1974 — most of them young children. Thanks to vaccines, infants around the world are far more likely to survive their first years of life, and children today are 40% more likely to reach their next birthdaythan they would be without vaccination programs. Vaccines don’t just prevent illness — they give billions of years of healthy life and remain one of humanity’s greatest public-health successes. Reference Shattock AJ et al. Lancet. 2024 May 25;403(10441):2307-2316. #VaccinesWork #Immunization #PublicHealth #VaccinesSaveLives #GlobalHealth #ChildHealth #HealthForAll #PreventionWorks
