AMP is grateful for the disruption of Alexander Heifler's alleged plot to assassinate @NerdeenKiswani. This comes after months of targeting and inflammatory statements from groups like Betar USA and US government officials like Congressman Randy Fine putting a target on Nirdeen’s back, amongst other activists and organizations. Zionist groups in collusion with politicians have been attempting to foment violence against Palestinians in the U.S. as they recognize the ground swell of support Palestine and Palestinians are beginning to receive from large swaths of the American public. We are thankful that this plot was foiled in time and that Nerdeen, a young mother and champion of Palestine, is safe with her family. However, we fear that so long as Zionist groups run rampant in NYC and beyond, these threats will turn deadly as they have in the past, with the brutal murder of Wadie Fayoumi in Chicago, the shooting of the three students in Vermont, and, of course, the open case of the assassination of Palestinian leader, Alex Odeh, in the 1980s. We've always known that there was a cost for speaking up for Palestine in this country, and Nirdeen’s resolve under these circumstances is a shining example of how nothing, not even the threat of assassination, will deter us from continuing our mission. We condemn these efforts in the strongest terms and call on federal, state, and local officials to take immediate action to investigate and dismantle the networks inciting and enabling this violence, to hold those responsible accountable, and to ensure the safety of Palestinian organizers and all those exercising their First Amendment rights. Additionally, we call on law enforcement to release information on whoever the suspect worked with. Such attempts will continue unless they are named clearly and held fully accountable.

Late last night the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force informed me that a plot against my life that was "about to" take place, and that agents had conducted an operation in Hoboken related to this plot. For months, Zionist organizations like Betar and politicians like Randy Fine have encouraged violence against my family and me. I will have more to say as additional details come to light. I will not stop speaking up for the people of Palestine. Thank you for your support. nytimes.com/2026/03/27/nyr…

On this blessed final odd night of Ramadan, we must double down on our work for Masjid Al Aqsa. Please donate to AMP today so we can expand our advocacy and organizing to challenge U.S. support for Israel’s attacks on Palestinian rights, holy sites, and freedom of worship. 👉🏼 AMPalestine.org/Ramadan

For generations, Masjid Al Aqsa has stood not only as a place of prayer but as the north star of the Palestinian liberation struggle. Today, it stands empty, silenced by Israeli military occupation for eighteen consecutive days during the holiest month of the year. Now, more than ever, people of all faiths who believe in freedom of religion and peaceful coexistence must stand together against those promoting hatred and division. Last weekend, Israeli occupation forces shot and killed a Palestinian couple and two of their young children, ‘Othman, 6, and Muhammad, 5. They were on their way home from shopping for Eid. The soldiers then violently interrogated the surviving 11-year-old brother and blocked ambulances. Since February 28, Israel has killed at least 13 Palestinians in the West Bank. Soldiers and settler militias operate with total freedom. These people are not just numbers. These are HUMAN BEINGS. A mother. A father. A six-year-old boy. A five-year-old boy. Shot dead in their car. Their brothers were forced to watch. Palestinians are being murdered in clear sight on a daily basis, and world powers continue to fund the massacres like it's nothing. @POTUS and Congress: This is the behavior you continue to enable and fund with billions of our tax dollars.  This is the definition of ethnic cleansing.

Israel soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian couple and two of their young children last night (15 March). Last night, around 1:30 A.M., Israeli troops operating in the village of Tamun in the northern Jordan Valley opened heavy fire at a vehicle driving inside the village. In the vehicle were members of the Bani ‘Odeh family, who were on their way home from shopping in Nablus for the ‘Eid al-Fitr festivities marking the end of Ramadan later this week. The shots killed ‘Ali Khaled Sayel Bani ‘Odeh, 38, his wife, Wa’d ‘Othman ‘Aqel Bani ‘Odeh, 36, and two of their children: ‘Othman, 6, and Muhammad, 5. After the shooting, soldiers removed from the vehicle two other children, Khaled, 11, and Mustafa, 8, from the vehicle, both lightly injured by shrapnel. The soldiers violently interrogated the elder boy at the scene. Initially, the forces prevented ambulances from reaching the area, and only after some time were medical teams allowed to approach. The troops confiscated the family’s vehicle, which was riddled with bullets. Since the beginning of the Israel-US attack on Iran on 28 February, Israel has killed 13 Palestinians in the West Bank. Of these, 8 were shot by the military, including 2 minors, and 5 were shot by settler militias. The most recent victim prior to this incident was Amir Mu‘tasem ‘Odeh, 28, who was shot and killed yesterday (Saturday, 14 March) in Qusra, Nablus District, by a settler militia that attacked the town. Since the beginning of 2026, Israel has killed 24 Palestinians in the West Bank. Of these, 18 were shot by soldiers and 6 by settler militias. This is part of Israel’s violent campaign of ethnic cleansing, which has intensified during the attack on Iran. Under Israeli rule, the lives of Palestinians are treated as entirely expendable.

There is overwhelming evidence that the assualt and abuse happened. A government notorious for committing crimes against humanity should not have the privilege of investigating itself or its officials, soldiers, and settlers — they all operate with literal impunity, even when the proof is right there.
Amnesty MENA@AmnestyMENA

The decision by Israel’s Military Advocate General to drop charges against 5 Israeli soldiers accused of abusing & sexually assaulting Palestinian detainees at Israel’s Sde Teiman military prison marks is another shameful example of the impunity granted to perpetrators of grave crimes against Palestinians amn.st/6017B6z4Oc

✌🏼 LEQAA KORDIA IS FREE! Exactly a year ago, Leqaa Kordia was ripped away from her family and sent to an ICE prison in Texas. All of this because she protested Israel’s genocide in Gaza along with tens of thousands of her peers across the country. In these last ten nights of Ramadan, many of us have prayed and advocated for Leqaa's release. And today, we are so happy to announce that Leqaa has finally been freed following a third court order. She finally gets to go home to her family. This couldn’t have been possible without the advocacy of countless organizations, Leqaa’s legal team, and YOU. Time and time again, we are reminded of the importance of grassroots advocacy and how critical people power really is. Though it shouldn’t have taken a year, the last few months saw a breakthrough in pressure for Leqaa’s freedom. For weeks, people across the country refused to stay silent. We made calls, sent emails, raised our voices, and demanded accountability. That collective pressure mattered. It reminded those in power that injustice does not go unnoticed, and that communities will continue to organize, mobilize, and fight until what is right prevails. Today, Leqaa is free because a community refused to give up. But our work does not end here; we will continue to push for accountability and safeguards so that no family has to endure this kind of injustice again, simply for exercising their constitutional rights to protest and speak out against it. As we continue through these final sacred nights, this moment is a powerful reminder that our advocacy matters. When people come together with conviction and persistence, change becomes possible.

One year ago today, Leqaa Kordia was ripped from her family and sent 1500 miles away to an ICE prison in Alvarado, Texas for protesting the ongoing Genocide in Gaza. Today, she faces an unprecedented third and final bond hearing, despite a judge twice calling for her release already-an order that the government continues to block. Leqaa’s health, both physical and mental, continues to deteriorate due to her prolonged detention. These are her words, written in confinement from the Prairieland Detention Center. Our deepest condolences for the killing of Father Pierre al-Rahi. He had every right to refuse the Israeli military order to evacuate his village of Qlayaa, choosing to stand his ground on his own land with other priests. Israel's deliberate and ongoing assaults on the right of civilian populations to simply exist in their homes, from Palestine to Lebanon, must be unequivocally condemned and brought to an end.

This is what Israel’s on-the-ground execution of complete annexation looks like. This past week alone: March 2: Armed settler militias and occupation forces raided the village of Qaryut, killing two brothers, Muhammad (51) and Fahim (47) ‘Azem (Muammar), and wounded three other Palestinians, including another brother from the ‘Azem family. March 6: Amir Mohammad Shnaran, 27, was shot and killed by settlers near Al-Khalil. His brother was critically wounded. March 7: Khirbet Abu Falah village. Thaer Hamayel, 24, and Farea Hamayel, 57, both shot in the head. At the same time, Mohammad Murra, 55, suffocated on tear gas fired by Israeli forces. This is the strategy: make life so unbearable for Palestinians that they’re forced to flee so Israel can seize the land. And it's happening with military protection and government support.

This is racist and bigoted. A sitting member of Congress is declaring that millions of your fellow Americans, your neighbors, colleagues, healthcare workers, teachers, friends, etc., do not belong. The very idea of America is built on pluralism, on the promise that people of all backgrounds and beliefs can not only coexist but also thrive together. To call that a "lie" is to reject the Constitution and the core of our democracy. This statement is one of the most blatant examples yet of the dangerous rhetoric that has become common. An array of officials have made horrific comments about Muslims, and it must be unequivocally condemned. Congressman Ogles must be held accountable for this language immediately, starting with a formal censure. Both sides of the aisle should be calling him out. Every leader who believes in religious freedom and equal protection under the law has a duty to speak up. Muslims absolutely belong in American society; they are an integral part of its fabric, its history, and its future.
Rep. Andy Ogles@RepOgles

Muslims don't belong in American society. Pluralism is a lie.

AMP Mourns the Passing of Erudite Palestinian Scholar Walid Khalidi At the ripe age of 100, Walid Khalidi passed this morning in Massachussetts. His work and legacy will live for generations to come. Dr. Khalidi began his scholarly journey at Oxford University in the early 1950s, went on to lecture at the American University of Beirut for decades and then became a research fellow at Harvard. But perhaps one of his greatest accomplishments is co-founding the Institute for Palestine Studies in 1963, ushering in an era of unprecedented scholarly writing on Palestine and the Palestinian people that has shaped academia globally and served as a recognition of Palestinian suffering. No serious scholar of Palestinian history can pass without reading some of his 40 published books including his seminal works on the Nakba, “All That Remains” and “Before Their Diaspora.” These two works set the pace for the study of the Nakba in a methodological fashion, uncovering archives and history not written about before. A towering scholar in every sense of the word, Walid Khalidi will be greatly missed and warmly remembered.
