Here is advice for suggested actions under Code Red and Code Purple air quality from @DOEE_DC -- bottom line limit time outside as much as possible until things improve some and/or wear N95 mask.

Current AQI levels (9a) across DC widespread CODE PURPLE... one monitor reading 273 in District. Limit time outside and/or wear mask.

Good morning. Air quality this morning in DC area is WORSE than yesterday, with widespread CODE RED and CODE PURPLE (unhealthy for all) and even CODE MAROON (hazardous) toward Baltimore. Limit/reduce time outside, avoid strenuous exercise and/or wear masks.

DC is under a Code Red Air Quality Alert: Stay indoors if you can, and wear a mask if you have to go outside. Avoid strenuous activity outdoors and limit time spent outside as much as possible.

... to Aggregate Industries. One of the objects found was empty (a 75 mm shell), a second object is still awaiting results.

NPS will be closing part of park near where two objects were found a few weeks ago. No Trespassing signs will be put up along the northern stretch of the wooded area in Fort Totten Park, as well as concrete blocks and fencing on the southern edge and along the service road...

Today, I swore in our new ANC 5A05 Commissioner, Tyeron Boston. I look forward to working with the Commissioner to build a stronger, healthier Ward 5.

Last night ANC 5A passed a resolution affirming its support for more soil testing of all of Fort Circle park for toxic waste. Here is the resolution:

On April 18, NPS staff found two metal canisters in a mound of soil in Fort Totten Park. Out of an abundance of caution and until more research can be completed, a portion of the park has been #closed by USPP. #Formoreinformation visit nps.gov/rocr/learn/new… #publicsafety
