🇦🇷🗣️ Marcelo Bielsa back in 2024: "I am sure that football is in a process of decline. It is becoming less and less attractive because what made it the best game in the world is not there anymore." "If you let a lot of people watch football, but you don't protect the pleasure of what they watch, that favours business, because the business is that a lot of people watch football." "For me, the introduction of technology (like VAR) does a lot of harm to football. This sport has a particularity: when it becomes completely predictable, it loses its appeal." "As time passes, as fewer and fewer footballers are worth watching and as the game produced is less and less enjoyable, this artificial increase in the number of spectators will be interrupted." Do you agree with Marcelo? 😳

Impressively, Richard Tice seems to have been caught avoiding more tax than Nigel Farage

HYPOCRITE ALERT. Richard Tice avoided paying £600k in corporation tax. This was the headline from the Daily Mail re Angela Rayner underpaying Stamp Duty by £40k. I do hope the Daily Mail will do the right thing and call for Richard Tice to resign. #BBCBreakfast #BBCLauraK

The deputy leader’s property company paid nothing in corporation tax on multimillion-pound profits for most of 2018-21.

The scandal isn’t that Richard Tice legally reduced his tax by around £600,000. The real issue is that the UK tax system inherently favours the wealthy. Capital gains, for example, are taxed at up to 20% for higher-rate taxpayers - far lower than the 40% income tax rate on salary. Dividend income also benefits from a £2,000 annual allowance and only a 8.75–33.75% effective rate, compared with normal income. Meanwhile, the richest can use trusts, offshore companies, and other legal structures to shelter assets and profits, reducing their bills in ways that are simply inaccessible to ordinary earners. Even Labour hasn’t made meaningful changes to equalise capital gains tax with income tax, despite repeated promises. On top of this, big multinationals like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google often pay little or no UK corporation tax, even while generating billions in revenue here. Legal loopholes, profit-shifting, and complex structures mean ordinary taxpayers shoulder the burden while these giants contribute far less than their fair share. Every pound legally avoided in tax is a pound that doesn’t go into public services. Fewer funds for hospitals, schools, social care, and infrastructure mean the rest of society bears the cost of a system designed to favour wealth. The more money the richest and largest corporations shelter, the more pressure there is on ordinary taxpayers to fill the gap. The controversy isn’t about one individual’s actions - it’s about a system that structurally advantages the wealthy and powerful, and a political system that hasn’t changed it.

Easy - suggested 'boots on necks' to make people comply - suggested SEND children walk 5 miles to school and 5 miles back each day to save his council a few quid - found to have publicly disclosed information that could have jeopardised a rape Court case
