@BrianZisook So what if he did anyway. Every artist should be able to choose what’s best for their own career. Not all deals are the same, and a lot of so called independent artists have label support behind the scenes.

LaRussell didn’t sign a major label record deal. He partnered with Roc for a one album distro deal. One album! He kept ownership of his masters and maintains full creative control. If it doesn’t work, he walks and is once again “indie,” with the benefit of more notoriety.
