
Field Visit to Sambhavya Agro Button Mushroom
As part of ongoing efforts to promote agri-enterprises in Odisha, the Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment (DAFE), accompanied by the Managing Director of Agricultural Promotion & Investment Corporation of Odisha Limited (APICOL), visited Sambhavya Agro Button Mushroom Farm at Paramahansa, Cuttack Sadar, Cuttack.
The enterprise, led by Ms. Diptimayee Lal, stands as a promising example of modern mushroom cultivation practices gaining ground as a viable agribusiness. The unit has been established with an investment of ₹1,24,09,000, backed by financial support of ₹51,10,349 under MKUY, enabling the creation of a scientifically managed production system.
During the visit, the officials observed the operational setup and appreciated the adoption of controlled cultivation techniques that ensure consistency, quality, and higher productivity.
The farm underscores the potential of mushroom cultivation as a scalable and sustainable agri-enterprise, contributing to livelihood generation and diversification within the agricultural sector. It also reinforces the impact of policy support in nurturing next-generation agri-entrepreneurs in the state.
