@luthorean @SinningLeli Ya practical interpreting courses are mandatory for the degree, but I’m really struggling bc of severe social anxiety sadly. While I understand it’s less likely to be replaced by ai, career wise I was hoping to focus on translation bc my anxiety makes interpreting v. difficult :(

@APIS_isnt @SinningLeli Hang in there! But I'd recommend gaining experience on interpreting at uni. It seems companies are still looking for human interpreters (based on my own experience) I focused solely on translation & now kinda regret not trying interpreting in uni due to my shyness haha 😶

Slightly unrelated, but here's a fun fact. I applied for a translator job a couple months ago for an international school supply company. Went through the steps. They said they didn't need me after all. Months after, I check their website. It was such slip I couldn't get through-
