Inking my newest cel.

Genuinely disheartening when talented artist friends of mine waste time and effort on flash-in-the-pan, topical message art that has no impact whatsoever and will be stale the day after it's posted.

Dug up some of the cels I painted. I plan to do more soon. These were inked by hand and painted using acrylic and acryli-gouache. The couple of backgrounds were done with gouache.

The only books I was able to save (through a friend who got there when I couldn't) from the now defunct Delaware College of Art and Design's. Everything else was trashed as far as I could learn. A crime since it was the largest art library in Delaware.

@spumdonor One thing I've done is to look at where the line is supposed to go, rather than where your pen is at that moment as you complete the stroke, it helps relax the hand in a way.

The meme about your drawings getting worse when you ink them (unless you really know what you're doing) is true. It's like how the camera adds 10 pounds, but instead it's the inks add 10 mistakes

@spumdonor I used to be in the server he ran, I had to drop out because of the insufferable levels of knee-jerk qualifications that everyone made for each mention of "problematic" works or creators. Watched a couple people bounced for not falling in line, too.

@spumdonor Mickey Mouse-ing was also used for music that would follow every bit of on screen action, which seemed to be a house rule for Disney.

The Invisible Monster is undoubtedly the most indelible episode of Jonny Quest. Despite the limitations, there were several such scenes that, thanks to the music and staging, got branded in my memory.
