I was absolutely flooded with messages from mates wishing me luck for surgery yesterday, my phone battery literally died in a few hours because of it…. Oh that was a funny one!! 😂

Operation day tomorrow.

O Allah, there is no ease except in that which You have made easy; and You make the difficulty easy when You wish.

When I raise my hands in duʿāʾ, there is a stillness that descends over me, as though the world pauses in its endless motion. It is a quiet dialogue, a whisper from my heart to the One who knows it better than I do. Every word feels like a release, unravelling knots I did not realise were there, and yet it awakens something in me that I cannot quite name. It is not merely comfort, nor is it simply hope it is a stirring of the soul, a reminder that I am seen and heard even when no one else can hear the trembling of my own thoughts. In those moments, I feel a delicate bridge between the known and the unseen, where my vulnerabilities transform into strength. Duʿāʾ is both surrender and empowerment. It is a confession of dependence, yet it fills me with a profound energy to face the world anew. Each whispered prayer carries with it an unexplainable awakening, a light that is felt more than it is understood. Perhaps that is the beauty of it, some parts of the soul are not meant to be explained, only experienced in the sacred silence of a heartfelt duʿāʾ.

Hair cut and beard tidied up. Nice hot bath and I think I'll leave early for London and go have a good walk around.

In London tomorrow at hospital for Pre Op tests for next weeks big operation. If anyone in the area fancy’s meeting for coffee give me a shout.

Meet my two Cocker Spaniels, the undisputed champions of sock theft. While some dogs fetch balls and others guard the house, these two have made it their life’s mission to liberate socks from every drawer, washing basket, washing machine, tumble dryer and unsuspecting foot in the house. Their daily routine seems to involve a secret meeting at dawn where they plot their sock-snatching strategies. No sock is safe: clean, dirty, patterned, or plain, all are treated as prized trophies. I now live in a home where socks mysteriously vanish, only to reappear in the garden, under the sofa, or on one memorable occasion, inside the microwave (don’t ask). My washing day feels like I’m hosting a reality show called ‘Who Wants to Be a Barefoot Human?’ If there were ever a league for professional sock stealers, these two would be inducted into the Hall of Fame, probably while wearing my favourite fuzzy socks as hats.

My wife said the most beautiful thing to me tonight, she said she believes in God and that there is only one God. It filled my heart with so much warmth and love.

I seek the protection of Allah from the accursed Shayṭān. Allah, there is no god worthy of worship but He, the Ever Living, The Sustainer of all. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him Alone belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except with His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursī extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation does not tire Him. And He is the Most High, the Magnificent. (2:255)
