APS is excited to announce that Peter Balas has been appointed to serve as the new principal of Wakefield High School! Mr. Balas joins APS on July 1 and currently serves as the executive principal of Alexandria City High School. Congratulations! @wakefieldchief @APSVaSchoolBd

Helena Payne Chauvenet has been appointed as Principal at Hoffman-Boston Elementary School effective July 1, 2023. Ms. Payne Chauvenet joins Arlington Public Schools after 12 years of experience in school leadership. Welcome aboard! @HFBAllStars 🤩

Angie Close has been appointed as Director of Special Education (Secondary) in the Office of Academics effective June 1, 2023. Ms. Close brings to this position 32 years of experience in education, of which 30 have been with Arlington Public Schools. Congratulations!
