ESY Day 2 & 3: Different food consistencies are critical for individuals with feeding & swallowing issues to help reduce the risk of aspiration & choking, and to allow for adequate hydration & nutrition. SISD SLPs help modify lunch meals for scholars who need it. #SISD_SLPs

As Speech Language Pathologist Day (5/18/26) comes to an end, I had a chance to reflect on year 23 for me! From job fairs, to Spring Games, to Celebration Day, and direct support at @PHills_HS @missionechs @Campestre_ES @DWS_PK8, it’s been a great year! #TeamSISD

05/18/26 is SLP Day! Communication disorders are among the most common conditions, affecting tens of millions of adults & children in the U.S. SLPs, through intervention, help individuals communicate effectively and experience positive social/ academic success.

#TeamSISD hosted a Celebration Day at Pebble Hills High School, recognizing students across the district in the Individualized Learning Classrooms (ILC) program. Centered around the theme “It’s a Beautiful Day in Our Neighborhood: A Celebration of El Paso,” students took part in engaging, El Paso–inspired activities designed to support their individual strengths and abilities. The event created an inclusive environment where every student could participate and enjoy meaningful experiences!

Every voice deserves to be heard, understood, and valued. During Better Speech and Hearing Month, we recognize the power of communication and celebrate the professionals who help students express themselves, build connections, and grow with confidence each day. Thank you our #TeamSISD speech-language pathologists, SLP assistants, and teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing who help make meaningful communication possible.
