Co2 emissions caused by vehicles such as the car pictured are bad for the atmosphere and environment. This leads to global warming and the damage to our Ozone which can accumulate over time. #apesair @franklinlorax

Our circuit breaker panel is responsible for controlling the distribution of electricity to our house. This means the energy coming from burning coal is distributed across our house to power different utilities. #apesenergy @franklinlorax

We're planning on getting our garden ready by starting a few crops indoors to transplant outdoors. Plants need many nutrients, which are found in the A & B soil horizons. Humus, or decaying materials, provide a good source of nutrients. Gardens are fun! #apesland @franklinlorax

The soil in my garden has several properties that contribute to growth of plants. For proper growth, plants have soil requirements including humus, not too much fertilizer, and soil composition. Our soil allows for flowers to grow in the summer. #apesland @franklinlorax

@JackJulka @franklinlorax That's a good point because we covered how important agriculture was to population growth. Malnutrition and poor health are bad for countries that are trying develop and lead long lives.

One important aspect of understanding your impact on the environment is your ecological footprint. I travel by car every day but I could easily reduce my footprint through public transport. Reducing your footprint means preserving the Earth's resources. @franklinlorax #apespop

@BM8675309apes @franklinlorax This is great thinking about how energy moves down the food chain. Also why it's hard to have tons of tertiary consumers as there is less nutrients. Even for humans, we don't gain that much energy if consume other consumers. Still can be delicious.

Organisms only receive 10% of the total energy consumed by the organism they consume. In this case, the chicken making up my meal only received 10% of the energy in its feed, and I only received 1% of that energy. This meal is still yummy though! #apeseco @franklinlorax

This is a cactus which is usually found in the desert biome or the grasslands. Cactuses, like other plants, are primary producers while humans are tertiary consumers meaning the energy the plants have is lost as we move up the food chain. @franklinlorax #apeseco

@TB507778apes @franklinlorax This is a quick and easy way to help the environment that anyone can do. It's great to do this and many people don't even though it clearly helps. Reducing the amount of water used that goes through the sewer system can lower the burden this system has. Conserving water is great.

@BasitApes @franklinlorax The negative effects of plastic are wide, especially when it contaminates our rivers. Using the same water bottle may seem small but clearly has an impact. Landfills and other toxic waste can harm our rivers, so its great your contributing.
