Needs to be said, so I’ll say it. If you’re offended, good. We got coaches, players, and parents yelling from the stands and dugout, “Talk it up, bring the energy!” Meanwhile, hitters are getting carved up, pitchers can’t throw strikes, nobody knows where to throw the ball, baserunning’s a mess, and it’s mental mistake after mental mistake. But sure, let’s just “keep the energy up,” right? Makes no damn sense. You want real energy? Score some runs, make some plays, throw up some zeros. That’s how you spark momentum. Let the fans bring the noise. The dugout should be for focus and celebrating small wins each inning. And now we got coaches and parents celebrating this loudmouth, chain-wearing, attention-seeking behavior. I get it, it’s competition. You’re not out there to make friends. But you’re not out there to make enemies either. Show some damn respect for your opponents. Coaches who’ve played at a high level, who’ve coached at a high level, are tired of it. We’re tired of begging kids to act like ballplayers. Stop with the chants, the whistling, the yelling while a pitcher’s in his delivery, and coaches taking mound visits yelling “Ugh Ohh, Ugh Ohh.” Stop yelling “By you!” every time a kid is late on a pitch. That ain’t competing. That’s clown behavior. We love this game too much to watch it turn into a sideshow. Play hard, play clean, act like you’ve been there. And if you haven’t, act like you were raised right.
