Long-term sampling in tropical urban streams- Last summer we made another team effort to complete one more sampling event in our long-term monitoring of urban streams in Puerto Rico. Also collected snails for a different project. There are lots of Thiaridae in our urban streams!

A field day with our techs in Puerto Rico. Prieta stream is our long-term study site, where we are working on understanding stream ecosystem’s responses to hurricane and drought disturbance.

Bug IDing at La Selva - We have accumulated a lot of samples in our long-term project in Costa Rica. It will take several days and plenty of coffee to complete the task, but we are getting there ... poco a poco. BTW- insects are stained with pink, not the natural color.
