I also think gaps in releases can actually kinda void this personal belief. For example Bob as DLC in Tekken 8 is completely unjustifiable but Roger Jr. is fair game.
I am not paying for a season pass to get access to characters that were base roster from the previous title.

Returning characters as DLC is the biggest scam in the FGC and nobody complains about it enough.
Either let them return in base roster or cut them. DLC should be reserved for the new and original cast options, people who were unplayable before, or the occasional guest character.
