One of the main reasons for Kingston’s traffic congestion is that we have somewhat neglected other parishes re work, education and services. Half of Portmore/Spanish work and go to school in Kingston. You have people as far as Clarendon working and going to school in Kingston.

A lot of the long stretches of road/highways in the KSA area have 3 lanes (e.g. Washington Blvd).
The 3rd lane closest to the sidewalk was designated a Bus Lane by GOJ.
That was the purpsose of widening di road.
