@PRASAC @giladfeldman The standard deviation of a proportion is sqrt(p(1-p)), with p denoting the proportion, see #285398" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">stats.stackexchange.com/questions/2853… and if you want the standard error, not deviation, you can transform it using the normal conversion (divide by sqrt(N)).

Dear twitter, a stat 101 question: What is the right approach to calculate standard error of mean (a measure of proportion in this case) in a binary variable? any clue @giladfeldman

Gossipers don't always tell the truth, but not always maliciously. In this experimental paper, gossipers exaggerate the good behavior of trustees, in apparent tempt to stoke the fire of indirect reciprocity. journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.117…

Please help suggest replication targets! We are looking for suggestions for classics in JDM to be replicated. Criteria: - Impactful - No/very-few direct close replications - Fairly transparent methods detailed in paper - Can be run online with Qualtrics Ideas? [Please RT]

@giladfeldman @mbialek82 @PRASAC @eplebel I didn't submit it anywhere. I conducted it online & I think quite many didn't answer the CRT correctly but am happy to look at the data again (conducted it 5 years ago).

@ASNieper @mbialek82 @PRASAC Was this submitted somewhere? and, curious, did you, by any chance, try and run this online? if you did, do you recall the distribution of the CRT correct answers? Don't think "minor changes" necessarily make replication non-direct. From our template, @eplebel etal criteria=>

@mbialek82 @giladfeldman @PRASAC I tried to replicate the study by Paxton, Ungar & Greene for my bachelor thesis & it didn't replicate (wasn't a direct replication though, but with minor changes in the scenarios). I would be keen on helping to replicate it!
