UPDATE - 2.45pm: Due to increasing tensions on Penn Street, officers took the decision to redirect the march back towards St Augustine's Parade The protest group has now arrived back at the Cenotaph and officers are working to keep the protest and counter-protest sides separate.

UPDATE 12.36pm: A group of around 40 people have set off on a pre-planned march around Bristol city centre. Officers remain in company and continue to keep the two sides separate. We will continue to provide updates.

Officers are in Bristol city centre today (7 Mar) as part of a policing operation in response to a protest and counter-protest. Two groups have gathered at the Cenotaph, St Augustine's Parade, and officers are on the scene. There are no road closures in place. Updates to come.

UPDATE - 1.53pm: Officers have faced resistance while facilitating the peaceful protest to take place through Bristol city centre. Officers and mounted units remain in company with both the protest and counter-protest and are using dispersal tactics to move the march forward.

Two men will be sentenced next month after pleading guilty to a shop burglary in Westbury-on-Trym. A quantity of cigarettes were stolen by the men, from Southmead, on 7 February. Both were arrested the same evening and now have appeared in court. orlo.uk/8RmI6

Earlier today we issued a CCTV appeal in relation to an incident where a one-year-old boy was bitten by a dog in Arnos Court Park, Brislington, on July 29. We have since identified the man in the image and our enquiries are ongoing. Thank you for sharing our appeal 🙏

We're issuing a CCTV image of a man we believe could assist our enquiries after a van loaded with parcels was stolen in Bristol. A man was reported for stealing a white Ford Transit van on Langley Crescent, Ashton, at around 6.05pm on 17 July. Read more: orlo.uk/25vZ9

Proactive patrols by the Knowle NPT, led to the sighting of a male riding an off road bike at Broadwalk. Despite attempts to make off, he was detained and found to be only 11 years old. The bike was seized and the male will be reported. #OpBroad #NeighbourhoodPolicing

Operation Broad/Hemlock have been out today in South Bristol. This off road bike was seized after a call reporting anti-social riding in Hengrove. A further two bikes have been seized for driving offences.
