Many (many!) of us have been following the OHRC’s Right to Read inquiry and we don’t want to invest in courses that don’t align with its recommendations. #OHRC

@ASPIRE_AQ @StaceyRickman #StructuredLiteracy is so much more than just kindergarten phonics and PA. Are you actually not aware of that or are you being intentionally reductive in an effort to dismiss calls for change?

@StaceyRickman If you are looking to focus on just phonological awareness and explicit phonics instruction, we would suggest the Kindergarten AQ course. There would be more of focus on this in a solely Primary course. If you have any other questions you can email us at aspire@uwo.ca 2/2

@StaceyRickman The science of reading is covered in our Reading AQ courses. It is incorporated being specific to our Primary candidates. The focus of the courses are learning to read strategies for the Primary Grades and reading to learn strategies in the Junior/Intermediate Grades. 1/2
