SB 6409 passed out of the House W&M committee today... sort of good news... there was a bad amendment. Still working to make it good.

It's snowing in Olympia. In March. After we had 60 degree weather and sun all last week.

Project done... do I sleep? Not likely.

Working on "financial aid gift baskets" to give out tomorrow... still in office at 130am... Breakfast in 5 hours. Zombie Jono tomorrow.

6562 is on hold in the House. Likely to stay stuck.

Meeting w/Rep Wallace again today, re amendments.

Cuts to 4yr schools will likely be disproportionate this year, per a convo with a Fiscal Chair today.

SB 6562 will be heard in the House Higher Ed. Committee next Tuesday. I will be working on amendments till then.

@TunnyVann Because the other schools did not want the bill to apply to them. They do not think it is a good idea, for them, at least.

6562 passed last night at 11:37 or so. 29 votes for it, 19 against, and 1 excused. Will keep working on the House side.

Chopp says we should start with Gov's book 1, which is proportionate. Setting up mtg with other fiscal reps to double check.

Meeting w/Chopp re: disproportionate cuts in 30min.

Emmert, Wise, and other VPresidents, VProvosts, Deans, and more will give 5% of their salaries to scholarships and program support.

@TunnyVann The one to include some legislative oversight... I was asking around to see what support it would have in the Legislature.

Found out the idea for our amendment isn't that new. Apparently a similar idea was edited out during the writing process.

Met with Aldo M. committee staff on the Senate side. Good advice was shared. Scheduled meetings w/a few representatives.
