East Ayrshire Carers Centre will visit Kilmarnock campus on Thursday 23 November. Look out for their stall located in the foyer between 12-2pm. They can advise student carers about services and initiatives available to them.

In Ayr Hospital today with my colleague and Hospital Discharge Carer Link Worker @johnscaEACC raising awareness of Carers and the incredible support they provide to their loved ones.

I’ve had the privilege of taking part in @Columba1400 leadership academies as a young person and also as a staff member supporting young carers. They helped me to realise I wasn’t only just the kid who looked after his Dad but that I had my own aspirations in life. @EACarers

...but the Centre was able to provide me and many other young people with a childhood they would have never had. Today isn't about me, but about those young people that selflessly give up their childhood to support a loved one today! #YoungCarersActionDay

...after the death of my brother due to alcohol misuse. I have no idea how I would have been able to cope if not for the services I was able to access. Many young people including myself back then had or have to give up their childhood to provide the support they do...

I'm almost 30 and have worked for @EACarers for what will be 10 years in July. Two very big milestones! Not only have I worked for the Carers Centre but I have also accessed their services as a Young Carer. I remember vividly having to support my father with his mental health...

You may have heard the Government’s announcement in regard to PPE for unpaid carers. Local Hubs will distribute PPE to the whole social care sector as well as other social care providers and unpaid carers. For further information check out our website ->eastayrshirecarers.org.uk
