@Arc_Hound The funny thing with the Twin Snakes script rewrites is that they didn't fix the undisputed translation errors like "Big Boss was in a coma."

Also, using Twin Snakes rewrites as a frame of reference to condemn MGS1's Japanese script or say that "JB fixed it" is pure midwit behavior. I broke mutual with one dude because of that.

I never understood this meme that Kojima insisted that all future translations of MGS after 1 to be as literal as possible (whatever that means) when the English scripts are chock-full of idiomatic expressions and puns that were different in Japanese.

@Arc_Hound Wrong terminology was enforced too ("sneak point" instead of "infiltration point", for example). Now I don't know Japanese so I can't go through the original script and compare to the translated text. So I'll have to believe her on this.

@Arc_Hound IIRC MGS2 translator Agnès S. Kaku did say she was contractually obligated to provide an English translation with an English word as a counterpart for every Japanese word, which is only asked in technical manuals otherwise.

@SSGPrinceVegeta FYI: when a mod is "deleted" from Nexusmods, it can actually still be downloaded afterwards most of the time. You just need to know the file ID for the mod. Ex. Jill Voth nexusmods.com/residentevil32… But it was recently reuploaded by someone else.

Resident Evil 3 Remake with this Julia Voth mod was perfection it’s a shame it’s not downloadable anymore cause it was taken down years ago…. But of course being a Jill Sandwich lover like I am I still have the mod before it was taken down. 😈

@Pacinho_ Enfin, Death (true)² + The End of Evangelion est le film qu'Anno & co voulaient faire au départ. Rebirth s'arrêtent ainsi parce qu'ils étaient à la bourre et n'avaient pas pu terminer dans les temps.

@Pacinho_ De plus, Rebirth n'a jamais été exploité en dehors du Japon (le "Rebirth" présent sur le DVD Manga Vidéo est en réalité le début de The End of Evangelion coupé pour faire croire qu'il s'agit de Rebirth).

Les gens ne voient pas forcément l’intérêt d’Evangelion - Death and Rebirth, ce qui est dommage. La séquence de fin avec l’annonce de la date de sortie d’EoE et Tamashii no Refrain en fond, c’était GRANDIOSE

@HEITAIs Oh, that's what it meant in the original Japanese voicetrack for MGS3!? In the US dub for MGS3, The Boss only says "Run!" while her lips are moving with mostly no sound which looked like failed lip-synching.

@Arc_Hound @Thewokestgay I think the criticism was more like he took his former pupil's girlfriend as his own. Would Batman do that? But I haven't watched these episodes so I can't comment further.

@Thewokestgay Reminds me of all those people that throw a tantrum over Bruce Wayne dating Barbara Gordon in the DCAU because "it's his friend's daughter" (nevermind that Jim is closer to Thomas Wayne's age than Bruce's). Leon's age is not that far off from Sherry's. He was 21 in RE2.

I dont know what's funnier, people's weird headcanon about Leon being a father figure to Sherry or making this a racist thing about Ada. "Of course people dont want to see him with an asian women!" Ada Wong is as chinese as Tiger Woods

@L0rdEmmerich In my mind, he immediately left Holly White because he felt disgusted after killing Gray Fox and Big Boss. I think he lived with Meryl for a few months but it didn't work out for various reasons (age difference, PTSD, personality clash, alcoholism, ...).

All this only for Solid snake to almost instantly leave her after the events of MG2. He also will do the exact same thing with Meryl after MGS1 and based on his dialogues, would have done the same with Emma in MGS2 if she had survived. Solid Snake is, truly, a terrible partner.
