The biggest scam in frontend is thinking HTML is so hard it requires multiple levels of abstraction.

No matter your title, no matter your seniority, no matter your industry… There are two characteristics that separate good and great. The first is critical thinking. And the second is bias to action. So hard to find, so hard to teach.

@DuncanChapple @forrester Nope, you had it right initially, coffee+(muffins|donuts). The existence of any logical operator forces terms to exist. Use quotes when there aren't any other logical operators to force exact terms.

@DuncanChapple @forrester Absolutely! There's also support for the * operator, and if you put a term in quotes that will force it to be in every result. Push hard and yell if something doesn't work.

🚩 "lots of dependencies" Building software, frontend or backend, is not inherently complex. The key is to be use case driven and start with the simplest thing that could possibly work. Tools don't solve problems: people do.

To be a pioneer is to stand on a shore and look out to a land no one can see, know there are dangers we cannot imagine...and set forth anyway.

I wish employers would understand that culture is not just perks & happy hours. It’s also the way employees work. 8am & 5pm meetings? That’s culture. Constantly being scheduled over lunch hours? Culture. False sense of urgency? Culture. Improperly scoped projects? Culture.

One of the clearest barometers of curiosity is how often you share ideas and insights with others. A hallmark of discovery is bursting with excitement to tell people what you've found. Frequent enthusiasm about communicating knowledge is a sign of intellectual engagement.

Expertise isn't about being consistently right. It's about becoming decreasingly wrong. A hallmark of understanding is the ability to rule out inaccurate theories and flawed evidence, and thereby move closer to the truth. Learning is the art of discarding mistaken ideas.

Adding more people to a project
