What’s even crazier is that he performed this famous spin move on the ankle that had been bitten by a copperhead just a few months earlier. He killed the copperhead and brought it in the hospital with him. 😂 absolute GOAT.

@AStaley20_ It bit his dog first and then him when he tried to get the snake away from the dog. Went in garage and got a golf umbrella and killed it. Like u said, put it in a bag and took his dog and snake to vet first. Even put his dog health first.

People gonna realize how good a skipper Elliott Avent was in the coming years and I hope all you that have been calling for him to retire the past couple years know that it won’t get better than him at NC State

@PackInsider Hart was always in line for this job. One of the best assistants for a long time. Great baseball mind. Great recruiter. Anyone wanting a coaching search has not paid attention to this program.

Gotta be Hart, right? And for those wondering why every and their mother thinks so, it's because the 'Avent wants Hart' rumor has been around for YEARS. I was told by a college baseball source (not inside NC State) that they felt like if the administration wanted to go another direction, Avent would retire midseason and hand the reins to Hart to give him a shot. Now, that was just their opinion and it ended up not going down like that, but it was interesting to me then and it's interesting to me now. The way this is playing out is making me feel like it's already been decided. 🤷‍♂️

BREAKING: NC State announces head coach Elliott Avent will retire at the end of the season after 30 years at the helm. Avent is the Wolfpack's all-time winningest coach with 1,103 victories.
