@marklevinshow Great idea if regime change was the goal. It was not. The main goal is nearly achieved: degrade Iran's ability to rebuild it's nuke program by degrading its missile, rocket, drone, naval, air, defense, and command capabilities.

ARM THE IRANIAN PEOPLE IMMEDIATELY! I've been calling for this for weeks on radio.  One thing we can do, which Reagan did in Afghanistan, Angola, and Nicaragua, is ARM THE PEOPLE in Iran so they are no longer butchered by these monsters without the ability to fight back!  They will rise up as a real fighting force, but they need weapons!  And it must be done IMMEDIATELY, especially if we are talking about ending our military operation in a few weeks!

100% agree While patriotic Brits are lovely people, they have lost their country. The British government has pretty much always been "neutral evil", and they have been the enemies of the US Constitution since day one. It was only after the War of 1812 that the British realized military options were not viable to take back America, and instead they would have to subvert them and buy off their politicians and drag them into global wars to bleed them dry.

@AcademicAgent_X @firasmodad It’s a fragile coalition split down sectarian lines, certain positions can be only be filled by people from certain religions. President has to be Christian, Prime Minister Sunni and speaker of the house Shia. Not sure it can survive the expulsion of Hezbollah should it happen.

I sit here and listen to all the noise but can’t help boiling down to conclude that this is perhaps the biggest miscalculation of all… Treating a country with 40 years of sanctions survival experience, a fully doctrine-ised ‘asymmetric ‘ warfare-playbook, and an existential motivation to resist, as though it would behave like a rational economic actor that could be pressured into submission through force. Quite honestly, every assumption was built on what Iran ‘should do’ . Nobody in the US adequately accounted for what Iran ‘would’ do.

@ProVoiceMike @TheCriticalDri1 @TONYxTWO The reason for NATO to exist was to project US power in the Cold War against the Soviet Union. I might agree with you that now it’s a Cold War relic and perhaps needs to end. But this idea that NATO is a charity organisation for the benefit of Europeans is bizarre

@TheCriticalDri1 @TONYxTWO Frankly, to deter Russia from aggression in Europe. It's never been for our direct benefit. Europe got lazy and chose greater socialistic benefits to European defense (and let's not even talk about them buying Russian oil!).

@GnosticAnti @GuiveAssadi @woke8yearold The Europeans can’t do anything to help, if they could bail Trump out and by extension themselves they would. The president has no military option to this problem, he is just trying to turn this into a Europe bashing session because his supporters fall for it every time.

I can understand why Europe would not want to help Trump reopen the strait of Hormuz on an emotional and political level, but in reality it being closed will hurt them more than it hurts the US. The economic damage will be quick and devastating

@woke8yearold They can’t help reopen it, they don’t have a capability that the US navy does not have. It’s just time to admit the president has got this awfully wrong and a serious negotiated settlement will have to follow.

@Rix6145 @SigurdXamdax @JimFergusonUK Canada is your greatest ally in the world and Trump kicked them around they were nothing. Trump said three days ago he doesn’t need or want the UK involved. You can just admit this was all a mistake, what’s the point in trying to spin it on behalf of this president.

That is an interesting way to frame it, let me provide the correction : 1. He looked at Canada's situation and said it would only work as 51st state. (We already tried trade agreements and Canada didn't hold up their side of the agreement / took advantage of us) 2. Then he used Tariffs to level the trade imbalance, and acheive fair trade with our Allies who were taking advantage of the US. 3. Then he pointed out that the USA has the only real military in the west and that we should use Greenland for common defense, to which EU suggested that we had this already, and then proceeded to deny us USE of their bases in defense of the west.

🚨 STARMER REFUSES TO BACK U.S. IN HORMUZ Despite rising threats to global shipping, Keir Starmer’s government has refused to commit British warships to help secure the Strait of Hormuz, even as the United States calls on allies to step up. The strategic waterway carries a huge share of the world’s oil, yet London appears unwilling to support efforts to protect it. While Washington pushes for a coalition to defend the route, the UK is still “considering its options.” At a moment when leadership is needed, critics say Britain is choosing hesitation instead.

@KobeissiLetter The more the international price of oil goes up the more the world's leading producer of oil (America) benefits in relative and net terms. The losers are Europe and China. Russia benefits also but they aren't a threat to the US. Europe and China need to own up.

@endgovspending @SpencerHakimian I have told you more than once that it doesn’t matter. The strait is closed because of drones not the Iranian navy. Irans entire defence doctrine is built around drones and missiles and waging asymmetrical warfare. Not their navy or air force.

You saying “an impeding attack” is quite literally an assumption. I don’t even know what Trump said. I haven’t even been watching what he’s been saying it doesn’t matter what he says. What’s happening on the ground? Is what matters the reality of the situation is what matters. Sounds like you’re listening to him more than I am actually. 😂
