After watching 4 hrs of this propaganda masterpiece,I said this on NDTV Dhurandhar is not a film, it is a collection of lies, deceit & ideological indoctrination. This is not cinema, this is an election campaign for BJP& Modi At least have the honesty to put “Produced by Bhartiya Janta Party” in the opening credits.

“mana sullantha population” let me break some things down. 1. The telugu population IS NOT THAT FAR FROM HINDI SPEAKING POPULATION IN THE US. Telugu has been the fastest growing language in the US for a while now. 2. Hindi people/North Indians rarely show up for movies as frequently as the telugu community does. Without the help of the telugu community NO INDIAN MOVIE WILL EVER MAKE THE MONEY IT MAKES. If the movie is good we will show up…until price becomes an issue. 3. As someone who grew up in the US my entire life, I’ve seen the natural shift in enthusiasm of going to a movie amongst telugu families and telugu people in general. even up until less than a decade ago people were excited to go because the ticket prices never felt abnormal. On top of that, before all these movie passes existed people still had opportunities to get cheaper tickets like going to Costco and purchasing, Fandango coupons, rewards points etc. Once these movie passes were introduced, people started showing up for more movies on an even more affordable basis. 4. there are many factors to this like mediocre movies, short OTT windows AND high ticket prices. the issue here is if you’ve already conditioned your audience by putting a $30 ticket AND a short OTT window saying “4 weeks lo Netflix lo vasthadhi” then why would anyone pay that price? Especially when they have a family of 4? On top of that if you don’t enable passes, don’t allow any coupons AND you charge such a high price then obviously a family would rather just wait for 4 weeks and see at home for FREE. 5. our movies HAVE gone global, they HAVE gone pan India but if we’re still stuck in the mindset of “our market is small” then we will truly never grow. I don’t care about some stupid Day 1 record or premiere number. Yes, it’s fun to talk about but at the end of the day I would rather MORE PEOPLE come and bring their families to watch a good movie and KEEP COMING BACK TO WATCH than some stupid fans who show up ONLY ON PREMIERES and think that’s the value of the movie. Footfalls are more important than some inflated box office number. 6. Lastly, if our market really is lower…then why are these distributors buying our movies for more value than the Hindi movies. I’m not going to Walmart and paying more for a shirt there than I would at a Polo Ralph Lauren. It’s simple logic. 7. any successful movie, any high grossing movie makes money on a major thing…repeat viewings. if you want people to keep coming back to theatres and watching the movie you need to keep a good price, good deals, passes enabled AND a long OTT window. I’ve said a lot but ya this is just some of the dynamics I can think off the top of my head. any other USA TFI fans who feel the same or different then drop your thoughts.
