@Ron_Thomas32 covered high school sports for the Rochester Times-Union in the 1970s. As one of the only Black sports writers, he utilized his platform to combat racial inequity. For his groundbreaking work, Thomas will be inducted in the Black Sportswriters Hall of Fame April 11.

Garry D. Howard was the sports editor for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in 1994, serving as the only Black executive sports editor at a major metro paper at the time. For his groundbreaking work, Howard will be inducted in the Black Sportswriters Hall of Fame April 11.

@CliftonGBrown covered the “Bad Boy Pistons” during his time at the @freep. He watched the most physical team in NBA history rise to championship glory, winning in 1989 and 1990. For his groundbreaking work, Brown will be inducted in the Black Sportswriters Hall of Fame April 11.

Rob Parker was the first Black sports columnist at the @freep in 1993. In 1995, he was the first Black general sports columnist at @newsday in New York. For his groundbreaking work, @robparkermlbbro will be inducted into the Black Sportswriters Hall of Fame April 11.

@Ron_Thomas32 was the first @NBA reporter at @USATODAY, working there from 1982-84 and helping establish the organization. He went on to be the first chair of the @NABJSports. For his groundbreaking work, Thomas will be inducted in the Black Sportswriters Hall of Fame April 11.

Garry D. Howard was first Black president of the @AP Sports Editors. He held the position from 2009 to 2010. For his groundbreaking work, @ACBJ_GarryD will be inducted in the Black Sportswriters Hall of Fame April 11.
