Today, two members of the Unknown Vice Lords, Edward Allen and Deandre Rodgers, were individually sentenced to serve 50 years in a federal prison. The jury convicted Allen and Rodgers of causing death by use of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, that being murder in aid of racketeering. The ATF is proposing to rescind its 2023 regulatory changes on firearms with stabilizing braces. Multiple federal courts have ruled the rule (27 CFR 478.11 & 479.11) violated the Administrative Procedures Act and it has been enjoined or vacated nationwide. ATF Director Robert Cekada, and other ATF leaders, visited the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C., last week to place ATF markers, and honor and remember the sacrifices made by those who lost their lives serving and protecting communities. The memorial features two curving, 304-foot-long blue-gray limestone walls, carved with the names of more than 24,000 officers who have died in the line of duty throughout U.S. history. ATF celebrates the graduation of Mexican law enforcement officers from the Firearms Trafficking Investigative Unit’s intensive three‑week basic training course today. ATF Deputy Director Rob Cekada visited the students this week, emphasizing our shared commitment to combating firearms trafficking. The FTIU strengthens proactive, collaborative investigations with the Government of Mexico, focusing on firearms trafficking impacting the U.S. Mexico border and dismantling Transnational Criminal Organizations. Three members of the Memphis street gang "Young Mob" have been sentenced to serve time in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl. “ATF will not tolerate violent gangs that fuel their criminality by distributing danger drugs like fentanyl on our streets,” said Special Agent in Charge Jamey VanVliet of The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Nashville Field Office. “This sentencing underscores the collective efforts of our local, state, and federal partners and the unwavering commitment to maintaining public safety. The Memphis Safe Task Force provided a lead that led to the arrest of murder suspect, Terry Johnson. Thirteen years ago today, two terrorists detonated homemade bombs near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three and injuring hundreds. ATF was part of the law enforcement response, recovering pressure cooker bomb fragments while processing a 12-block crime scene. Today, Stanley Ambeyi, a Kenyan National, was sentenced to serve 18 months in federal prison for illegally possessing a firearm. On April 11, 2025, Ambeyi was arrested during a traffic stop where officers located a firearm and ammunition.
