Ramon Morales-Valencia was sentenced to federal prison last week for illegal possession of a firearm and illegal reentry. After being formally removed from the U.S. in 2010, Morales-Valencia was found to be in possession of a pistol and methamphetamine during a traffic stop last year. @USAO_OR

Last week, ATF and Salem PD seized a cache of firearms and drugs following the arrest of Michael Brasi in connection with a domestic stalking incident. Search warrants were served at multiple locations associated with Brasi. Seized items included several firearms, firearm frames/receivers, suppressors, and thousands of rounds of ammunition. Brasi is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms.

Last month, 21 year-old Connor Aguayo and 20 year-old Eligha Buckner Lopez were sentenced to 15 years in prison and 30 years in prison, respectively, for their involvement in the murder of 31 year-old Longview resident Cody Tamayo. The success of this Washington state case relied heavily on the discovery of the murder weapon, a firearm that likely would have never been found had it not been for ATF K-9 Moby's assistance.

Dylan Dang was sentenced to over 7 years in prison for conspiring to distribute meth and fentanyl. Dang and his coconspirator sold and distributed several pounds of meth and fentanyl from their base of operations in California to a Hawaii purchaser. Dang flew to Hawaii on two occasions to pick up over $41K in cash drug proceeds. Unfortunately for Dang, he was selling drugs to an undercover law enforcement officer.

Between April 2023 and April 2025, Bill Nguyen sold and distributed over thirty-four pounds of methamphetamine and eleven pounds of fentanyl from his base of operations in California to a Hawaii purchaser (who happened to be an undercover law enforcement employee). Nguyen has been sentenced to over 18 years in prison for his crimes.

The last of four co-defendants was sentenced to federal prison after convictions related to burglaries of a home in Coos County, Oregon. The four defendants broke into a home and stole approximately 1 million dollars in cash, gold, silver coins, and more than 40 firearms. Several stolen firearms were later recovered in California.

Our ATF K-9s are highly trained to find explosives, but sometimes they moonlight as therapy dogs when the circumstance calls for it. ANCHORAGE, Alaska Kendon Rowcroft-Ivy, 20, has been convicted of trafficking firearms and illegally possessing a machinegun. In the span of 10 days, Rowcroft-Ivy sold 13 machinegun conversion devices ("MCDs"), which convert a semi-automatic firearm into a fully automatic firearm. Rowcroft-Ivy will spend 57 months in federal prison for his crimes.

Today at 1PM PST, Seattle hosts the first knockout round match of the #2026FIFAWorldCup between Belgium and Senegal. Leading up to the match, ATF K9 Jaisa secures the national team buses. K9 Jaisa is an elite Search Enhanced Evidence K9. She is trained to detect explosives, and conducts comprehensive pre-event sweeps and real-time threat detection.

BREAKING NEWS 🚨 ATF special agents and certified fire investigators are on scene at the request of the Island County Sheriff’s Office after an explosion at a residence on Whidbey Island. Three firefighters were injured in the blast shortly after they arrived on scene to battle the house fire. Media inquiries should be directed to the Island County Sheriff’s Office, the lead investigating agency.

USMNT midfielder Weston McKennie met ATF K9 Moby on the Seattle practice field today. While McKennie prepares for his upcoming match against Australia, K9 Moby and his handler are conducting sweeps to ensure the safety of the team and practice area for the #FIFAWorldCup2026.
