🚨STATEMENT We are deeply concerned by multiple reports reaching us of students and other protestors being targeted, detained, or arrested by various state agencies, particularly in Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar. The Cockroach Janta Party had called off its nationwide protest only after the Government of India assured us that no punitive action would be taken against any protestor, either now or in the future, in any BJP-ruled or NDA-ruled states. The reports emerging from these states are therefore a matter of grave concern. First, we wish to assure every protestor that our legal team is already coordinating with brilliant lawyers in the concerned states to secure the release of those detained and to extend all possible legal assistance. This has been happening from Day 1. Second, we call upon the Government of India, particularly @JPNadda ji and @DrJitendraSingh ji, to immediately honour the assurance given to us by ensuring the release of those detained and by directing that no coercive or retaliatory action is taken against any protestor anywhere in the country. The FIRs registered ought to be withdrawn too. The Government of India is also reminded of its commitment to furnish us the written guarantee in this regard by tomorrow, Tuesday, 28 July 2026. Our decision to suspend the nationwide protest was taken in good faith and solely on the basis of the government’s assurance that it would stand by its word. Any departure from that assurance would not merely amount to a breach of trust with the Cockroach Janta Party but would also be a breach of public trust with lakhs of young Indians who chose dialogue over protests. Such breach of trust will be completely unacceptable to the youth. The Government of India is reminded that it derives credibility not from just making a promise, but from the promises they honour. To the young protestors we say, hold on. We are with you. The CJP continues to closely monitor the situation and expects the Government of India and all BJP/NDA state governments to act with utmost urgency, responsibility, and good faith that the present circumstances demand. We demand that all detainees/arrestees be released immediately, and in any case by tomorrow, and that all FIRs be withdrawn immediately, failing which we shall take further necessary steps. @Cockroachisback

@Sanjay_Dixit Fail to understand as to why your agitation did not denounce the students and their parent who tried to indulge in this act. The agenda had an ulterior motive.

Dear @JPNadda @DrJitendraSingh ji, We are observing a complete breach of the agreement regarding no police action against the protestors. Hundreds of students have been arrested in Bihar and Bengal, and hundreds are being surveilled/harrassed in Delhi and other states. Multiple reports are emerging in Delhi around detention of volunteers supporting protestors with logistics. We demand that all the FIRs against the protestors be immediately withdrawn, students be released and no future FIRs be filed (in line with our agreement) by Delhi police / Central investigative agencies / Police in BJP-allied states, FAILING WHICH WE WILL BE FORCED TO SIT ON PROTEST AGAIN. We also demand that the written agreement around legal cases be shared with us by tomorrow, the aligned timelines with the Government of India.

Now that the protests are over, it is worth separating genuine student concerns from the political machinery that sought to exploit them. Before anyone remembers this as an “apolitical movement”, it is important to recognise the umbilical cord that connected its leadership with the Aam Aadmi Party. Many of its prominent faces had long-standing associations with Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, having worked with the AAP leadership or occupied political positions linked to the party. What was projected as a spontaneous students’ movement increasingly came to be fronted by seasoned political activists rather than ordinary students. That is not to say every participant had political motives. Many young people joined with genuine concerns. Others were emotionally persuaded that they were part of a larger cause. They deserve empathy, not cynicism. But history suggests that once the headlines fade, many will realise they were used to advance the interests of political actors rather than the interests of students. The answer to India’s educational challenges will not come from orchestrated agitation or political theatre. It will come through sustained reforms, institution-building and long-term investment. Over the past twelve years, the Modi government has consistently worked towards expanding opportunities, strengthening educational infrastructure and improving the ecosystem for future generations. This generation is impatient, and understandably so. Many have not experienced the policy paralysis and neglect of earlier decades. That makes it even more important for us to engage with them, address their concerns respectfully, and demonstrate through facts and outcomes the value that is being created. India deserves informed debate, not manufactured outrage.

@ATK0782 @SauravDassss The "elected govt" has been elected over a rigged election. At the top, people of the govt have been thinking they got the power as an inheritance from their ancestors what they certainly didn't. And yeah, keep licking those asses...

Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth! We have decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks. Have directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps in this regard. This continues our series of steps for safeguarding the interests of students. Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared.
