My final hot takes for the 2026 Atlanta Braves- The GREAT- Matt Olson-Hits 40HR and .280BA- 6WAR. Has a cinematic walk off in October. Austin Riley- stays healthy, 34HR and is in full form come October to lead the offense on a play off run. Ronald Acuña- god mode activated- MVP finalist who swipes 35 bases and smashes 42HR. Drake Baldwin- solidifies himself as a top 3-5 catcher- 24HR and .850 OPS. True superstar rising. Sean Murphy- comes back late May and along with Baldwin becomes part of the best C/DH duo in baseball. 25HR-Entire pitching staff takes a bump from his presence. Chris Sale- 200K sub 2.50 ERA 175IP. He makes his first play-off start in Truist and devastates the visiting team. Fuentes- never gets sent back down after a few lights out relief appearances early on and as a 20 year old is a solid SP3. True freak of nature stuff. Takes some of the sting out of Striders regression. The GOOD- Michael Harris- takes huge strides towards being the player we know he can be, still has insane highs but the lows aren’t nearly as low and most importantly they don’t last nearly as long. All-Star. Mike Yastrzemski- solid OFer, 18HR and .745 OPS. Crushes RHP. His streakiness is tough at times and some Braves fans turn on him bc they thought he was Barry Bonds after a good ST (it’s a joke relax). Dubon- below average player until he gets to slide into a platoon/utility role and becomes a very important weapon. AA extends before 2027. Spencer Strider- after a short IL stint he goes out every 5 days and posts a solid 3.50-3.75 ERA. Solid season. Spencer Schwellenbach- comes back early, i surprising everyone but struggles after missing a year. He is closer to elite Schwelly by October and has some shining play-off moments. HSK- missing ST topped with years of injuries is hard for him to overcome. Multiple IL stints (all short). He plays mid defense and is a slightly below average bat. The BAD- *If you only want my homer takes and get upset when I am negative please stop here* Ozzie Albies- the power never returns and we’re left pondering our short kings future. He is a sub .750 Ops and 20HR bat. I am begging to be wrong here it’ll break my heart. Reylo- shoulder is cooked and after 4-5 starts he goes on the 15 day IL and doesn’t come back for months. Also begging to be wrong I love Reylo too. Bryce Elder. The UGLY- Jonah Heim- is unplayable- .585 OPS when Murphy returns. Dominic Smith- loses his job to Tellez as soon as Tellez is ready. The nightmare combo of these two forces AA to trade for the impact bat at the deadline he should have acquired in the offseason. Craziest hot takes- Owen Murphy- called up in July and is Schwelly 2.0 showing he has the highest ceiling among 2026’s call ups. Enough of the core is having a great year at the deadline, topped with the extra money and an impending lockout that AA finally goes crazy at the deadline and trades for some combo of 2 out following- Pivetta, Severino, DeGrom Buxton, Laureano, Yandy Diaz
