PROTECT WOMEN: @sarazagorski, AUL's Senior Director of PR & Communications, was quoted in @WNGdotorg discussing the recent Tennessee House Bill (570) that failed to advance out of the House Population Health Subcommittee. The bill would have classified abortion as criminal homicide under Tennessee law, allowing for the prosecution of women for abortion. Sarah commented, "A lot of this stems from, I believe, sometimes well-intended individuals who are frustrated that in the last three years since Dobbs abortion hasn’t been eliminated altogether... Is our solution for those women to prosecute them and put them in jail for their abortions? It doesn’t take into account the wreckage that Roe brought upon society as a whole... We have had some huge successes. While minor girls and parents' rights are legally protected from abortion in within Texas, young girls can be taken for secret abortions out of state. The Texas Legislature must end that.
