To end the year (and the #WordleHouse project), let's take a look at the history of Wordisle. We start in 185 with the Roman Conquest. They built the city of Lexiconium on the confluence of the River Lexicon and the River Lynam.

Today's #WordleHouse is the Lexicon History Centre. It explains the history of the Roman city, Lexiconium, which became Wordletown after the Conquest. There's a whole room on the legendary Knights of Lexicon who guarded the ruins of Lexiconium until defeated by the First Lord.

40 YEARS AGO TODAY: Q.E.D edition Round Britain Whizz attaches a camera to the outside of an RAF Hawk, flies it round the entire British coastline and then speeds the footage up a bit to fit it to within half an hour, with localised interjections. youtube.com/watch?v=WFBhp8…

There's been a saga in the Sheffield subreddit where people are going to a specific co-op on eccy road and delighting in the freezers that are seemingly tuned to a C# chord. reddit.com/r/sheffield/s/… Someone finally recorded it, it's fucking beautiful.

"Peter Mandelson, right, went mad. In the 80s, Peter Mandelson lost it big time. He started, like, hearing voices in his head and shit, telling him to like kill Tony Blair and shit. He came back from it man, he fucking came back." Still one of the best videos of all time.

I've still got ornaments I bought on a student budget from the 'tie dye and joss sticks' shop opposite the cafe at the back. And all the Kate Bush 12"s from the record shop upstairs, which still smell very faintly of a house fire.
Simon Knott@SimoninSuffolk

One of my favourite buildings in Huddersfield today was Byram Arcade, a galleried shopping arcade of c1880 by WH Crossland. It's easy to imagine the posh shops that would fill it if it was in Leeds or Harrogate!
