@adubashi @380kmh @upstatefederlst Plenty complain about it, but very few will tell you that it is the main reason they do not like American suburbs. There are many reasons that go far beyond just a personal taste in aesthetics.

@380kmh @upstatefederlst There are definitely YIMBYs who complain more about houston's sprawl because it's not aesthetic compared their one summer abroad in copenhagen

@NYCDOT394267 It's almost like we should focus on increasing prices of the modes of transport that cause the most wear to public roads, thereby encouraging more efficient road usage (reducing maintenance costs) while also raising more money.

@NYCDOT394267 That would discourage cycling, thereby encouraging public transport / car use.. both of which cause more wear to the road than cycling itself.

@UrbanCourtyard great public spaces, but we don't need this "neo traditional" facades. Can you make it with modern buildings?

@Grand_Ayatollah @UrbanCourtyard People will always be able to peek inside your house from the windows, as is the nature of having windows. You can have both private courtyards and public parks. If noise is a big issue, a dense city probably isn't a good fit for you in the first place.

@UrbanCourtyard honestly, these two videos, they suck! First one, people can peep inside your house & naked guy sunbathing just yuck, second one niggas playing ping pong, the noise just ugh. A proper park separated by streets from apartments is much much better.

@Sonystando1 @SuperSisi It's real, just depends on the scene. The issue is that the base PS5 does not support path tracing, which can cause the face model's lighting to look strange in certain conditions.

@subonekd @Heated_tv Maintaining a steady active player count requires a healthy amount of incoming new players to replace those leaving. That said, you are correct that the game is not growing.

Based on estimated player numbers, that is likely existing players moving over from the Tarkov launcher, roughly 2/3 of the playerbase. There's been no indication that the release has brought in *new* customers, and the game has stayed rather flat through it's "launch" window. Die hards will play, but growth remains flat.

This is the biggest issue extraction style games face in longevity and growth. Early on, there is a healthy mix of player styles: some will help you, some ignore you, some will fight you. Ultimately the higher skilled players and grinders “finish” the available content, and the only available thing to do becomes PvP. This ruins the balance seen in the early game, now well equipped players only play to hunt other players. The result makes the game unplayable for new or slower progressing players. This is why extractions style games fail long term: growth requires removing PvP, which upsets the balance that makes the game fun.

Swagg says ARC Raiders should add UAV’s: “You know what would be really useful in ARC is a UAV.. right now there’s no way to find any intel about where people are at.” 🗣️

@rivaLxfactor @rayray194720 @shankly1985 @JenisixFPS Well as I said, the 100m figure is not exactly unbelievable. BF2042 pulled 22 million in the same time frame despite abysmal concurrent player counts. BF6 could easily quadruple that with the free to play mode, stronger launch, and generally just better player retention.

Xfactor Gaming - Battlefield 6 & Arc Raiders
What does Battlefield 6 have to do to stop this slide? What 3 or 4 things are most important to you to get you to play more or bring you back into the fold. This is a pretty strong slide post launch seeing as we JUST got FREE TO PLAY Battle Royale, Gauntlet and Season 1 ten days ago.

@rivaLxfactor @rayray194720 @shankly1985 @JenisixFPS Well it's not exactly my place to speak on revenue. Trying to estimate that based on concurrent player counts is shaky at best. What kind of player counts would actually be necessary to pull those numbers is anyones guess.

@JenisixFPS @rivaLxfactor It's a lofty goal for Battlefield, but then again, this is the highest player count Battlefield on record, and they have a popular free to play mode now.. So it's not necessarily out of the picture yet.

@JenisixFPS @rivaLxfactor That would be a total player count goal. As in, the total number of unique players over a certain time period (it was not specified, could be the entire lifespan of the game). Steam displays a concurrent player count, which is vastly lower than a total player count would be.

@checkit814 @rivaLxfactor In this fashion, Battlefield's situation is much more akin to games like Arc Raiders, the Finals, and Helldivers than it is to Call of Duty. Compared to those games, I would say the player counts are about in line with what would be expected.

@checkit814 @rivaLxfactor COD is well established as a large franchise that caters to and is budgeted appropriately for a sizeable, loyal mainstream audience. Battlefield is a lower budget, niche title with a historically small fanbase, that is experiencing a player boom from mainstream audience interest

Xfactor Gaming - Battlefield 6 & Arc Raiders
Battlefield 6 is slowing down and Arc Raiders continues to take off. Both games should have more players on Saturday and Sunday. More than likely Arc Raiders breaks their all time peak yet again this weekend. The incredible run continues.

@alexj2722 @Thanos95375753 @hehedhsbsv96252 @BFBulletin I'd rather have paid for cosmetics than paid for maps/weapons/gadgets/vehicles. The way the game is set up now, you can just opt out of paying for the cosmetics, and all of the gameplay related content updates are totally free.. no paying for DLCs required.

EA has updated the Season 1 Battle Pass blog post to indicate "California Resistance" and "Winter Offensive" seasonal paths won't require to complete all 4 Battle Pass’ branching paths to unlock the upcoming DB12 Shotgun and the Ice Climbing Axe in #Battlefield6. "Progress on these seasonal paths can be made concurrently while completing the regular Season 1 Battle Pass." These seasonal paths will be available for a limited time.

@T3rraIncognita The post here is criticizing the population distribution within individual cities, which is a planning issue. Low population cities can still be compact and house people close together, it has nothing to do with population. The age of the city also doesn't seem relevant.

@RivehDeng @tasimetre @KyleTrainEmoji I’m not the one that started comparing Chongqing and Mississippi. But hey, let’s compare the US most dense states to China’s regions. NJ would be number 9, and every other state out of the top 10. The US is just much more empty & spaced out than China.
