As we enter this season of thankfulness our class has started a thankful tree. We are hoping to add to it every day and let it remind us that we have so much to be thankful for @StJuanDiegoOCSB

Today one of my students from last year came to read to my students this year. The grade 1’s loved learning all about sharks and listening to an older student. Way to go L! @StJuanDiegoOCSB

On the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation we talked about how children should feel at school. The Grade 1’s did a great job listening and learning @StJuanDiegoOCSB

This week we have been practicing our heart words using different activities like play dough, board games, worksheets and crack the code. These are helping us remember these irregular words so we can use them in our reading and writing. @StJuanDiegoOCSB

Today we made a chomping alligator to help us with comparing numbers @StJuanDiegoOCSB

We have been learning all about heart words in our class and read this amazing book to help us learn why we need to learn these irregular words by heart @StJuanDiegoOCSB

Today we had our first friend of the day - Ollie. He got to lead our line, pick up the recess kit at the office and pick a treat from the treasure box. We can’t wait to see who will be our friend of the day tomorrow. @StJuanDiegoOCSB

Meet Ollie, our class pet. Today we learned all about Octopuses while reading this wonderful back to school book. Ollie has joined our class to learn from our Grade 1’s as he is new to school. We have lots to learn this year and lots to teach Ollie @StJuanDiegoOCSB

Our first day we talked about our new classroom family and thought about how we want everyone to feel in our classroom. Our grade 1’s had such great ideas for our classroom agreement @StJuanDiegoOCSB

And that’s a wrap on the 2023-2024 school year. Thank you so much Grade 3’s for an amazing year. We did so much learning and growing this year and I know you will all do amazing things next year. @StJuanDiegoOCSB

We were so fortunate to have a visit from the OPL to highlight some amazing reads. Thanks for bringing us new titles to explore and get us excited to keep reading throughout the summer @StJuanDiegoOCSB
