I lost the capacity to walk due to Psoriatic Arthritis. It took me years to rebuild. Now I can walk limited distances wearing a leg brace. I once wanted to climb the mountain Ben Nevis. I’ll never be able to do that now, but I have climbed my own mountain in my own way ⛰️ and I treasure and feel happy with every step. Sending a huge shout-out and so much love to everyone else out there climbing their own mountains today. @portraitinflesh I guess I grew up (long ago) on meat and potatoes with seasonal veg, and salad in summer. But I’d have missed the tinned peaches and apricots.

Can you imagine how bleak our diet would be, if we could only eat stuff that grows in the British climate? No bananas, no chilli peppers, no tea or coffee. Global trade is a modern miracle, and only troglodytes think otherwise.

North Cardiff people - have you ever noticed this sign which offers a different spelling of Velindre Road? Apparently, it’s a remnant of a local dialect which often replaced -e with -a at the end of words. Velindre (or Felindre) means Mill town (or settlement or village).
