After The Acolyte, three directionless sequels, and years of cancelled films, does she have a point or is this the most tone-deaf exit statement in Hollywood history?

@awoodshreds @fandompulse Agreed in the main, but we haven't even seen the flick! The Mandalorian was the best thing Star Wars has done in years, and that's because it went back to its Western-esque roots with creatives that know how to tell a story. Don't see why this movie would be any different.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is now tracking at $65M for its opening weekend according to World of Reel, which would set the record for the lowest Disney-era Star Wars opening, including Solo. The Force Awakens opened to $936M domestic. Six years of Kennedy-era movies, three seasons of Mandalorian, and the first theatrical Star Wars in six years may open below a film everyone called a box office disappointment in 2018. Is Disney's Star Wars brand beyond repair?
