I talked about showing the sacrifice behind the glory, but there is one more layer we must peel back: THE MYTH OF THE SELF-MADE MAN. In Nigeria, we celebrate the person who "made it out" of the trenches. But if 100 people live in a trench and only one "makes it out," that isn't a success story—it’s a systemic failure. When our mindset is purely about individual survival, we become blind to the power of the collective. Few shifts for a new Nigeria: 1. From "Asking" to "Offering": Instead of teaching our youth to look for "who to ask," let’s teach them to look for "what is missing." Money is simply a reward for a problem solved. When you offer value, you don't need to beg for access. 2. From Competition to Collaboration: The "money ideology" makes us think we are all fighting for the same small piece of cake. The truth? If we work together to fix the electricity, the roads, and the policies, the cake itself grows 100x. 3. The "Generational Bridge": We must stop telling our children "I suffered so you don't have to." Instead, we should say, "I built this foundation so you can build the skyscraper." Success without a successor is a failure. We are not just working to buy cars; we are working to build systems. African prosperity isn't a solo sport; it’s a relay race. It’s time we stop running like we are the only ones on the track.

We are raising a generation that loves the Harvest, but hates the Soil. In Nigeria, almost everyone is looking for "who to ask," but very few are looking for "what to solve." We have become a society obsessed with the Result, while completely ignoring the Process. This "Money First" ideology is exactly why a 15-year-old boy today feels "broke." Think about that. Where is a child supposed to find money? When we make everything about the hustle and nothing about the journey, we force our children into a survival mode they aren't mentally ready for. The Correction: We must start showing the Sacrifice. If we want to change this country, we must change how we talk about our success at home: 1. Explain the Endeavor: Don't just bring home the money; explain the work that generated it. Let your younger ones know that wealth is a Value Exchange, not a lucky break. 2. Normalize the "No": Our children and family need to see the days when things are tough. They need to see the grit it takes to stay honest when shortcuts are available. 3. Teach the "Why," not just the "How Much": If the only metric of success we show is the brand of car or the size of the house, we shouldn't be surprised when they do "anything" to get them. We cannot achieve the Nigeria we desire until we have the right mindset. African Prosperity is not just about the money in our pockets; it’s about the integrity in our process.

Nigeria’s Real Crisis isn’t Financial—It’s Psychological. We keep talking about the exchange rate and the cost of living, but we are missing the root cause: Nigeria’s poverty is not material; it is psychological. Material poverty is having an empty bank account. Psychological poverty is having a "survival-only" mindset that prevents you from ever filling it. When your mind is governed by scarcity, you stop seeing opportunities and only see threats. Some symptoms of psychological poverty: 1. The "Take-What-You-Can" Mentality: This is why people loot, why contractors cut corners, and why some "hustles" are just disguised theft. It’s the belief that "the national cake" is finishing, so you must grab your piece by force—even if it ruins the system for everyone else. 2. The Fear of Another’s Success: In a psychological poverty trap, we believe that if my brother succeeds, there is less "success" left for me. We celebrate the downfall of others because we think it levels the playing field. 3. The "Wait for Help" Syndrome: We have been conditioned to look upward to the government, to an uncle, to a miracle—instead of looking inward at our own capacity to create value. The Correction: You cannot build a first-world economy with a third-world mindset. We must move from Survival to Scalability. We must stop being "money-conscious" at the expense of our character and start being "value-conscious" for our collective prosperity. The bank account only follows where the mind has already gone.

Beyond the Break — The Week of Execution. The Easter break is officially over. I hope you had a meaningful time of rest and reflection. More importantly, I hope you truly experienced the weight of what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross—bridging the ultimate "Gap" so that we can live in Newness of Life. Now, it is time to bring that Resurrection energy into your work, your business, and your community. 3 Pillars for the New Week: 1. New Status, New Strategy: Don't go back to the "Old You" or the old, inefficient ways of doing things. You have the power to create a fresh start today. 2. Execution over Emotion: The holiday feeling is gone, but the mission remains. Get ready for the challenges and opportunities this week has ahead for you. 3. Bridge the Gap: In your own sphere of influence, be the one who provides solutions and creates value. Have a blessed and productive week ahead.

Do you want to know why we(Christians) celebrate Easter? Today marks the greatest event in human history: The Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. This isn't just a holiday; the Resurrection is the absolute Foundation of Christianity. It is the proof that the "Gap" between man and God has been bridged forever. What Easter represents: • Victory over the Old: The debt is paid, and the struggle is over. • Our New Status: We are no longer defined by our past mistakes but by our "Newness of Life" in Christ. • The Ultimate Comeback: He defeated death and brought us life. Easter is our celebration of a fresh start and the power to live an extraordinary life. What does the Resurrection mean to you personally? Do you have more reasons to celebrate? Drop them below.👇

Every government has two non-negotiable responsibilities: 1. The Security of life, property, and the welfare of its citizens. 2. The creation of laws and policies that enhance the lives of the people. Let’s talk about Security today. In this country, going out and returning home safely has become a miracle rather than a right. It is a "blessing" we have to testify about every single day. The Reality for 2026: This isn’t the time to sleep with both eyes closed. Our government has failed in its primary responsibility, and as a result, you are now the Chief Security Officer of your own life. You are responsible for your own movement, your own protection, and your own awareness. But we cannot live in "survival mode" forever. Election is around the corner. You know what to do.

Jesus paid the ultimate price(sacrifice) — Leadership at its Peak. Beyond the religious tradition, today is a day that reminds us of the highest form of Leadership: Sacrifice. True leadership isn't about the title you hold or the money you generate; it’s about what you are willing to give up so that others can move forward. Lessons for Modern Leader: 1. The "Gap" requires a Bridge: Every great problem in this world—whether in our policies, our economy, or our character—needs someone willing to stand in the gap. 2. Service before Status: You cannot lead a people you do not love, and you cannot love a people you aren't willing to serve. 3. The Price of Progress: Nothing significant is ever built without a cost. Whether it is your time, your comfort, or your ego, progress requires a sacrifice. As we reflect today, ask yourself: What am I willing to lay down so that my business, my family, and my country can rise? African prosperity isn't just about making money; it’s about the character of the people making it. Let us move from survival to Service. Happy Good Friday. Tell me one thing you’re willing to sacrifice for?

Another critical factor in moving a country forward is POLICY. Without policies that favor citizens and investors, you cannot drive an economy toward growth. Many Nigerian policies are outdated and act as bottlenecks. A prime example is the Land Use Act of 1978, which stipulates that all land belongs to the government and requires a Governor's consent for any transaction. In a country where the currency is highly prone to inflation, waiting over two years for a Governor's consent is a death sentence for capital. These delays kill the drive of the citizens and, more importantly, destroy the appetite for foreign investment. If we don't modernize our "operating system," hard work will continue to yield diminishing returns. So what other policy gaps have you noticed that are holding us back? Drop them below.

🇳🇬 Today, @theflutterwave announces a Nigerian banking license. It is a defining step in our 10-year journey to build the financial infrastructure powering Africa’s future. A decade ago, we started with a simple belief: better infrastructure changes everything. Payments failed too often, settlement was slow, and expanding meant rebuilding from scratch. So we focused on connecting what was fragmented. With the acquisition of @mono_hq earlier this year, we deepened that connectivity. Now we are going further by building a unified platform where businesses can open accounts, accept and send payments, manage payouts, run payroll, and operate across currencies in one place, with access to lending and working capital powered by real transaction data. Businesses can now run their entire financial operations seamlessly, while developers can build new financial products directly on our infrastructure at scale. We can now build, innovate and solve customer problems faster than before because we now control the value chain of payments in Nigeria. Our destiny is now in our hands. We are reimagining banking for Africa’s future. Faster. Smarter. Built for scale. 🚀🦋 Learn more: flutterwave.com/us/blog/owning… flutterwave.com/ng/bank

I strongly believe that for us to move forward as a nation, we must fix two fundamental things: 1. How people make money. When a man cannot feed his family, his moral compass begins to spin. If we can occupy our youth with legitimate work and the ability to live easily, we are one step away from ending most negative behaviors. Poverty is the greatest recruiter for crime. 2. How we value human life. We have become so money-conscious that we’ve lost our "human-consciousness." We are ready to harm others or destroy systems just to make an extra Naira. The "Survival" Trap: Too many of our people have been in "survival mode" for so long that they’ve become "bush"—ready to do anything just to eat. But African prosperity is right around the corner if we can move from Greed to Contribution. Nobody will build Africa aside Africans. Let’s stop chasing money at the expense of our brothers.

Most people see a "gap" in an industry and get frustrated. Shift your perspective: that gap is your Opportunity. Problem and Opportunity are the same thing. When you truly commit to deep learning, you start to see exactly where the "experts" stopped. 1. Deep Learning gives you the foundation. 2. The Gap is where you notice what’s missing or what can be done better. 3. Execution is where you turn that missing piece into Income and Impact. If everything was already solved, you wouldn't be needed. Don't just consume knowledge—find the gap and own it. So tell me, one "gap" you’ve noticed in something you’ve paid close attention to lately? 👇

If you spent the whole week working in your business, use the weekend to work on yourself. The 3-question Weekend Audit: 1. Am I a commodity? If a client can find your "replacement" in 5 minutes for half the price, you haven't built a brand—you’ve built a trap. 2. Am I Learning or "Collecting"? Another certificate won’t save you. A sharpened skill that solves a painful problem will. 3. Is my "Yes" too cheap? Saying yes to every "popular" investment or low-paying client is why you are still standing still. Wealth is a choice of discipline. While others chase the "vibe," use these 48 hours to build your Value. What is the one thing you are "learning" this weekend? 👇

If you believe the only way to get rich in 2026 is through illegal activity, you are either unexposed or simply not ready to work. I talk to business leaders every day, and the reality is clear: There is an abundance of money moving through the system. The problem isn't a lack of cash; it's a lack of value exchange. Wealth is a simple equation: 1. Solve a problem no one else has solved. 2. OR, build your skill to be the absolute best. 3. And, position yourself to be visible to the people who have the biggest problems you want to solve. Are you building a skill or building an excuse?

Yesterday, we talked about the 100 million Nigerians living on less than $2 a day. It’s a statistic that should keep us all awake. But how do we actually "democratize luck" for the 19-year-old who is currently idle? The answer is Digital Skill Leverage. The world is no longer waiting for you to have a physical office or a "big man" connection. If you have a skill that the global market needs, your location in Nigeria becomes an advantage, not a barrier. 3 Skills that can break the poverty cycle right now: 1. Technical Storytelling/Content Writing: Every business on earth needs to tell a story to sell. If you can write, you can eat. 2. Digital Distribution (Community Management): Knowing how to manage a brand's voice on X or Discord is a high-value skill that startups are desperate for. 3. Data-Driven Execution: Learning how to interpret what the market wants and delivering it faster than the competition. To the "Big Men" and Leaders: Don't just give them fish; give them the data and the mentorship to build their own nets. To the Youth: Stop waiting for a "job." Start building a "skill." A certificate proves you sat in a class; a skill proves you can solve a problem. Money flows where value is created. If you can solve a problem for someone in London, New York, or Lagos, you are no longer a victim of your environment—you are a player in the global economy. Which skill are interested in learning? Drop it in the comment section.

We talk about "Peace and Unity" in Nigeria, but let’s be honest: Until the common man can feed his family and live with dignity, peace will remain a dream. The statistics are loud: over 100 million Nigerians are living on less than $2 a day. When people are trapped in survival mode, the foundation of the country is at risk. As Tony Elumelu always says: "We need to democratize luck." Nobody is coming to save Africa but Africans. If we don’t commit ourselves to empowering the next generation, we are leaving the door open for chaos. An idle mind isn't just a workshop; it’s a ticking time bomb. Our collective job should be: 1. Create opportunities: Even if it’s just mentoring one person. 2. Share Knowledge: Give them the "internet psychology" to earn in a global economy. 3. Keep them engaged: A young person with a skill and a paycheck is a young person who won't be used for violence. True patriotism isn't just singing the anthem; it's empowering the person next to you.
