Rural Arizona families deserve protection from extreme utility rate hikes. Governor Hobbs vetoed HB 2113, legislation sponsored by Rep. @TMartinez4AZ that would have required Arizona’s ratepayer advocate to step in when a utility proposes raising residential rates by 100% or more. This bill was introduced after Pinal County residents facing a proposed rate increase of more than 200% asked for help and were turned away because their community was considered too small. That is exactly what HB 2113 would have fixed. ✅ Protect rural ratepayers ✅ Ensure families facing extreme rate hikes have representation ✅ Hold the Residential Utility Consumer Office accountable ✅ Put financial harm to households ahead of population size and politics Arizona families should not have to hire their own attorney just to fight back against massive utility rate hikes. The size of a town should never determine whether its families deserve help.
